It’s Happened Again

Horror. Tragedy. Sorrow.

George Floyd, Minneapolis, Minnesota, murdered by the police, while other officers stood by watching. All caught on tape…. again. We watch him crying, begging for his life, again, with the familiar last words spoken by the late Eric Garner, “I Can’t Breathe!”

When will it stop? What can we say? It seems like we are not safe in our homes, in the park, or on the streets.

This terror, this vile, animalistic violence against black people must stop. And it will take more than statements on social media, and sermons.

I, we, must engage, speak truth to power… call it out…. and yes, pray. Pray for justice, and pray for the strength to stand up, and live through it all.
