Self-Care in the Midst of Crisis Times

Self-care is incredibly important during these difficult days. As we move into the eighth month of these very trying times, many are experiencing mental fatigue, and ‘exhaustion of the soul’. We must take intentional and conscious effort to care of our minds and souls, at all times, but especially now.
One way to guard your mind against the onslaught of stress these days is to continue to focus on the Word of God. Two Scriptures that will refresh your mind are:
“You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my adversaries before me”. Psalms 18:39
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but The Lord delivers them out of them all.” Psalm 34:19 (ESV)
What I love about these Scriptures is that they remind us that although the battle may rage on around us, God has given us the strength to press on. And beyond that, He will give us the victory. Kind David who wrote many of the Psalms knew this truth all too well. In Say Yes Now episode 00015 I share more about the great trials in the life of King David, as well as the apostle Paul, because in difficult and continuously tumultuous times like these, it is natural for us to look for examples of leadership that can pull us through. The inspiration from the lives of two men, who understand persecution and hardship well, can give us courage as we face similar. When abandoned by those that should have loved them, when pursued by those that hated them, these two men withstood the temptations to give up and give in. If you are searching for a beacon of courage to still SAY YES in the midst of these difficult times, this episode is a must listen! You can find it here: https://apple.co/34JxaLT
Also as you encourage and care for others, be sure to encourage yourself! Be sure to rest, renew, refresh, and revive. Regardless of how you feel today, expect to feel better tomorrow! Hold on and HOPE ON because The Light still shines.
In addition to caring for our inner man, we must also take care of the outer man. Covid19 is making a dangerous comeback! So, we must be careful and be prayerful. Wash your hands, wear your masks, keep social distancing, and take your vitamins, including -C, D3, Zinc, B12. Follow the science, and FEAR NOT!
