Violent Tragedy Strikes Again

Sadly, the viscous tentacles of racist violence have again hit our nation. For months, there has been a rise in violence against the Asian community. Innocent victims walking on the sidewalk, beaten, spat on, and knocked down; cars, homes, and businesses vandalized.
Sadly, yesterday at three spas in Atlanta, 8 innocent woman were shot to death, 6 of them Asian. This is tragic! Across the nation, the Asian community, is on edge. We are well aware that black and brown communities continue to in be on edge. “Injustice anywhere, is a threat to justice everywhere.” (MLKing) These are challenging, violent, racially polarizing times. Hate groups continues to rise. LORD HAVE MERCY!
In the face of these continued tragedies, we need HOPE. Right now we need the hope of God. We are still reeling from the attack on Stacey Abrams, midterm elections, the George Floyd court trial, and still no justice for Brianna Taylor. And now our sisters and brothers of Asian descent are being beat down and knocked down like dogs in the street, with six of our Asian brothers and sisters murdered in Atlanta, Georgia. We need God to help us to be encouraged and to help us to have enough courage to stand up.
We were praying and asking God to help us to step up and bring change in our communities, in our workplaces, in our country. We still need to deal with human trafficking, with violence, with racism. We need God to help us. Not only personally. We need God to help us as a people. Black and Brown people are still being disproportionately discriminated against, women particularly continue to find themselves at the bottom, through no fault of their own. When racism, and sexism, raises its vicious head, we must stand up, and say something. Yes, we must stand with women, and stand with our Asian brothers and sisters. Pray for change, and be the change!
Our prayers are with the victims, and their families, at this tragic time.
